Loretta Loftus, MD

Affiliated with the Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute. She also holds current academic positions as a Senior Member in the Department of Women’s Oncology at the Moffitt Cancer Center, a Professor of Medicine and Oncology in the Department of Women’s Oncology at the University of South Florida College Of Medicine, and as a Senior Member with Tenure at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center. She received her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1974, her Masters of Business Administration from the University of South Florida College of Business Administration, her board certification from the National Board of Medicine Examiners in 1975, her board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1977, her board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine, Hematology in 1982, and her board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology in 1983. Dr. Loftus has clinical experience in Hematology, Medical Oncology, and Oncology in areas including but not limited to acute leukemia, basal cell carcinoma, breast cancer, chronic myeloid leukemia, small intestine cancer, and squamous cell carcinoma. She has an extensive background and expertise in breast cancer research. Throughout her career she has received 35 awards, some of which include: The American Medical Women’s Association Scholastic Achievement Award from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Diplomate from the National Board of Medical Examiners, the American Board of Internal Medicine, and the American Board of Internal Medicine for Hematology and Oncology, AMA Physicians recognition award, and she has also been nominated for the Physician of the Year Award at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center three times.
