Benjamin Kim, MD

​

Affiliated with the Hospitals of the University of Pennsylvania-Penn Presbyterian and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. He also holds a current academic position as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Scheie Eye Institute. He received his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine in 2004 and his board certification from the American Board of Ophthalmology in 2010. Dr. Kim has clinical experience in areas such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, laser therapy for diabetic retinopathy and vitreoretinal disease, and retinal disorder. His research expertise includes age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, geographic atrophy, choroidal neovascularization, retinal neovascularization, and retinal imaging. He is also a member of the following Professional Associations: the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialists, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary Alumni Association, The Society of Heed Fellows, the American Society of Retina Specialists, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
